There are 8 planets in our Solar System. They all travel around the Sun in paths called orbits.

The 8 Planets (closest to farthest from the Sun):

  • โ€ขVenus โ€” the hottest planet
  • โ€ขEarth โ€” our home, the only planet with life
  • โ€ขMars โ€” the red planet
  • โ€ขJupiter โ€” the largest planet
  • โ€ขSaturn โ€” famous for its beautiful rings
  • โ€ขUranus โ€” rotates on its side
  • โ€ขNeptune โ€” the farthest and windiest planet
