Galaxies
A galaxy is a huge collection of stars, planets, gas, and dust, all held together by gravity. Our Sun and Earth are just one tiny part of a galaxy called the Milky Way!
โก Fun Fact:The Milky Way contains hundreds of billions of stars. It's so big that light โ which travels incredibly fast โ still takes about 100,000 years to cross from one side to the other!
Galaxies come in different shapes. Some are spiral galaxies with curved arms (like the Milky Way), some are elliptical galaxies shaped like a squished ball, and some are irregular galaxies with no particular shape at all.
๐ Example:There are billions of galaxies in the universe, each with billions of stars. On a clear, dark night, you can sometimes see the Milky Way as a faint, cloudy band stretching across the sky!
