Sunlight looks white, but it's actually made of every color mixed together. During the day, blue light scatters the most across the sky, which is why the sky looks blue!
โก Fun Fact:Earth's atmosphere is a thin layer of air that surrounds our planet. When sunlight passes through it, the tiny gas molecules scatter the light in every direction.
At sunset, the Sun is low near the horizon, so its light has to travel through much more atmosphere to reach your eyes than it does at noon. Almost all the blue light scatters away before it arrives, leaving mostly orange, red, and pink light.
๐ Example:This is why sunsets (and sunrises) glow with warm colors, while the middle of the day looks blue โ it all depends on how much atmosphere the sunlight has traveled through!
